Wishlisted, a lifestyle platform, compiled a chart listing the most popular Halloween movies by state including the year said movie was released, its critic score, and audience score. According to the chart, Netflix’s 2021 teen supernatural slasher Fear Street Part Two: 1978 is the top horror movie in New Hampshire. The film was directed by Leigh Janiak who wrote the screenplay alongside Zak Olkewicz and as well as  the original story for the movie alongside both Olkewicz and Phil Graziadei. It is the second installment of the Fear Street Trilogy which is based on the book series with the same name written by R. L. Stine. All three films were released back to back on Netflix between July 2nd to July 16th of 2021.

The movie’s storyline on IMBd is: “1978. Against the backdrop of the endless feud between the teenagers of Shadyside and Sunnyvale and the centuries-spanning curse of the doomed witch, Sarah Fier, a spate of brutal axe murders terrorises the unsuspecting campers of Camp Nightwing. Now, after the pitiless killings in Fear Street: Part One – 1994 (2021), a handful of lucky survivors find themselves in dire need of help to link the past to the present and, hopefully, unearth the gruesome truth. But warm, bright-red blood follows. Will Deena and her friends ever find out what happened that horrible July?”

Fear Street Part Two: 1978 garnered a positive reception with an award, two nominations, an 87 percent critic score, and a 80 percent audience rating. Wishlisted, according to their methodology, was able to create this chart from a list of 210 horror genre movies from Rotten Tomatoes Top Movies list. They then filtered for only “Certified Fresh” horror films with at least a 60 percent Audience Score, sorted them by the Audience Score, used Web Scraper to assemble the list, then used Google Trends to compare search interest for each movie by sub region for the whole U.S. between September 2017 to September 2022.

For anyone looking to binge watch a horror movie trilogy on Halloween night with some friends, or by themselves if they’re brave, the Fear Street Trilogy is a great option to celebrate this year’s spooky season.
